I didn't know about this, but given there was a much more public and well-documented attempt by trump supporters to overturn an election and he still got elected later, I don't think they'd care even if they did know.

Well. So i feel like in fairness his version of events is that they prepared alternate slates of electors in the event that they were able to prevail in these states in legal battles and recounts. He tried every possible avenue including pressuring congress on jan 6 not to endorse the electoral college result but once they did he relented. It's not like he literally tried to stay in the white house and told the army to back him up
