This is what I've been saying. My mother worked in immigration law and detailed to me how many things the applicant has to go through for naturalization. The system is built to be as time-consuming and difficult as possible to make it harder to come here.

this is to the folks who thought that voting for Democratic mass deportation and genocide would have somehow prevented the US from acting like it always has. these are the same lot of people who think that systemic change is too impractical despite yearning for said change
