The Kerala government declared itself free of extreme poverty at a politically convenient time and refuses to release its statistics or methodology. Meanwhile hundreds of thousands of its residents hold ration cards for the poorest classification. lowkey shoutout kerala, if i was ever gonna move my family back to india it’d be there. of course the super rich people just have most of their property out-of-state to escape the taxes but regardless, kerala’s still doing very well
