OP, #3, and whoever agrees with them: Which party is progressive today? Which party is conservative today? Which party was progressive then? Which party was conservative then?

Hey so how come black ppl haven’t voted Republican since literally the 1800s and only vote Dem now 😃

Probably because democrats buy their votes and run a disinformation campaign to make them associate conservative with racism when it’s not true

Or or or or it’s because of the heavily documented FACT of the party switch

Party switch isn’t an excuse. If the KKK switched to more liberal and peaceful ideological then I would still not support them.

Actually, it’s bc you people do shit like this every day, and bc you hate black ppl and think they’re all lesser than you. Hope this helps

He probably didn’t even realize cause he doesn’t associate them with that animal and thought it was random like it was for all the other white Democrats. It’s the people who instantly assumed racism from the video who are actually racist

Yes it was totally coincidental that the only two black people were put as one of the most famous anti-black racist slurs. Donald Trump btw was investigated by the fbi in the 70s for racial discrimination against black tenants.

Blame the AI for being racist. Trump just reposted a funny video he saw turning democrats into animals. He didn’t look too much into it. It’s just a boomer thing.

What’s funny about the jokes? Explain it to me. What’s the punchline of saying racist things. And I was talking about the other leaked group chat not from Florida. Kind of telling there’s multiple different ones though.

I was in the chat. It’s mostly dark humor shit. Nothing to be taken seriously. I can look for old screenshots later. But if you have a bunch of college boys regardless of the political affiliation or subject of the group they’re gonna say dumb shit to be funny. I’m in some nba and fantasy football group chats and same thing. It’s just something boys lol

It was only racist because the media took it out of context and sensationalized it like they do everything. It’s like a female jokingly texting her “I hate men”. Then the news takes the screenshot and labels her as misandrist, sexist, ect…

What’s the context around the guy fantasizing about methods of lynching black people that you think makes it not racist? You were in that groupchat. Enlighten me.

I agree with you on the overall message, but it’s a lot less clear in proper historical context. Look at eugenics for example, on paper it was a cutting edge and progressive idea that humans can be perfected with Darwin’s theory of evolution. In reality, legislation was a mess of conservative Democrats targeting minorities. It’s similar to today’s confusion between antizionism and antisemitism, where one group has justified criticisms and other groups hijack the message to push hateful rhetoric

Then there’s also the party flip misconception. It’s better to describe it as the waves of party shifts. Currently we’re either in the 6th party shift of Neoliberal vs Neoconservative, but a case can be made for being in the 7th party shift of populism. The 3rd party shift is what eventually kicked off the Civil War and saw conservative Democrats and progressive Republicans. The 4th party shift was the above eugenics point of blurred lines.

And the 5th party shift shaped modern politics. It stemmed from FDR’s focus on social programs. Since they were so popular, both parties modeled domestic policy after FDR. There were distinct lines at social equality, which is where we see the “party swap” come in. However, 5th party shift Democrats made the mistake of compromising with desegregation. Civil Rights was led by the people, and we’re seeing 6th party Democrats finally fully aligning with that.
