So uh… why exactly does the heritage foundation/project 2025 want to repeal the Antiquities Act of 1906??? Like ts has been law for nearly 120 years 😭

They want to sell off public land for mining, logging, and development. They tried to do that in the “Big Beautiful Bill” but that particular amendment was withdrawn. See also: Trump/Obama re Bear Ears Then they want to repeal it so presidents no longer have authority to create new public lands

My understanding it’s the first law enacted that lets the president make federally protected lands like national forests, national parks, etc

So government paying for upkeep of land and no return aka no capitalism happening. They probably want charged visits or private ownership.

This is what project2025 says about why they wanna get rid of it but all I see is “they’re not letting use use the resources” covered in biased perspective and attacks

They probably want to make huge expansive and expensive hotels in the most scenic areas so dumbasses can pay 3500 dollars a night to stay there instead of camp like a normal human being and hike to these places
