Agreed so many car companies are focused on gimmicks when consumers want affordability

I mean, I don’t necessarily like the Tesla cyber truck, I wouldn’t go so far as it’s “fails to even slightly progress automotive design” tho. It’s a funny meme car

Saw a dude trick it out to look like a halo warthog once. That was pretty neat. I also like the idea of electric vehicle mechanic work

I also want something that works well and doesn’t break immediately or cost a fortune to fix when something does break. Personally I hate the trend of replacing all the physical buttons with touch screens. Cause it provides zero tactile feedback so you have to take your eyes off the road to change anything with music or directions or what have you. But you just know it’s cheaper to produce and easier to design🙄

What particularly bothers me is that fucking with your touchscreen is legal but fucking with your phone isn't.

my car is from 2009 and apart from some minor issues I can’t afford to fix atm it’s pretty damn great. Like it’s missing some things I’d like like integrated directions and cruise control and maybe buttons on the steering wheel to control media and such but it also doesn’t have any of the shit I hate. It had an aftermarket stereo when I bought it that I still don’t rlly know how to use tbh but everything is a real button. And everything is tactile. No push start no button gear shift.

Even has a parking break👍 Which I sometimes use when I remember it exists. Or park on steep hills.

Oh yea very good point. There really isn’t much of a difference in terms of distraction.

Nice lol. I dunno how to drive those ngl but I do appreciate the low tech aspects of them. Mines still an automatic but lord I’m glad I had someone to help me find a good used car.

Hardcore about to give my girlfriend the other one. Not much can break on the transmissions really other than the synchros and even then you just double clutch it. They're addicting but it's a bad habit because they're dying very quickly.
