He’s just gonna appeal it until he gets to a circuit that will overturn it (or until it gets to the Supreme Court) and ignore it in the meantime

Until a higher court issues some ruling, stay, or TRO, whatever this judge says sticks. He has to comply (but probably won’t)

Another judge in Boston said it’s likely unlawful. Unclear what the reasoning for the Rhode Island judge’s TRO was besides irreparable harm (which is common). https://www.cnbc.com/2025/10/31/snap-trump-judge-food-stamps-shutdown.html All I see in the court record is he issued an oral ruling and the reasoning is in the record. They’ll enter the transcript into the record on the next business day apparently Rhode Island State Council of Churches v. Rollins (1:25-cv-00569) is the case
