being punk or alt or whatever is inherently left-wing. it was literally BORN out of progressive thought and a strong desire to rebel and “sticking it to the man”. conservatives cannot be punk. liberals can’t be punk either. leftists and only leftists can be punk.

“Alt” is a useless category. It’s just a general term that refers to basically every subculture to ever exist, regardless of what the basis of the subculture is. It’s almost impossible to make any claims about.

Being punk or alt is inherently counterculture. If you live somewhere where everyone expects you to be a leftist, being conservative is counterculture. Plenty of pierced and tatted conservatives in blue cities, you just probably assume they’re leftists when u see them
