I don’t have any respect for anyone who thinks the Scared Straight program was remotely a good idea.
They’re probably a conservative, and if they aren’t, they have the same rot in their brain as conservatives.

It increased criminality amongst the children that participated, and essentially just ended up being a bunch of grown ass adults verbally abusing children for no gain.

If you have a young man on the path towards criminality then chances are being rough, tough, and scary are the things he thinks make you a man. So if you show him a bunch of criminals that embody those exact traits, what do you think the lesson he gets out of it’s gonna be?
