They want to maintain an amount of influence in that area for geopolitical, financial, and religious reasons. But really the world doesn’t trust us at all anymore, so even that is moot at this point.

it’s not even religious at this point, they’re largely using religion as a smokescreen. i have never met an actual jewish person who is in support of the current state of israel - most of them are very much against the netanyahu regime and want peace over everything else. just like christianity, judaism is a faith of peace at its core, and the people peddling death are antithetical to the religion; they unfortunately also have lots of money to manipulate people with
