at least economically i feel like china is on the up and up with their long term central economic planning and their large control over rare earth metals, i heard they’re working on their next 5 year plan and that they’re aiming to be a “modern socialist nation” in 2050 but im not completely sure what that exactly means for them

Yeah I think their economic outlook is kinda murky at best, there’s a lot that goes into it. I’m talking individual quality of life tho. Do they have a larger middle class? Less people on food stamps or homeless? That kinda thing yk

i know for sure theres a pretty big disparity between the urban centers and the real rural parts, i think urban things are mostly stable but rurally im sure its a hit or miss

Yeah I mean not so different from here I guess. Parts of Virginia and Mississippi look like 3rd world countries
