Gen z modesty and puritanical attitudes is related to Roe v Wade being overturned the way 60s and 70s wild sex culture was related to the pill coming on the market and Roe being ruled on

Roe v Wade was only overturned 2 years ago. I think gen z’s COMPARATIVELY sexually reserved attitudes are a backlash against internet porn and the sexualization of everything

And honestly I think “gen z puritanism” is massively overstated anyway

Yeah before roe being overturned I didn’t see no fucken milkmaid dresses tho. You’re def right but part of it is the fear of sex leading to unwanted pregnancy and is developing sex averse attitude as well, and that spilling over. Same way as sexual liberation came and everyone was fucking everyone even before roe and that just pushed it further

And are you kidding? Young gen z, especially men, are just as conservative as present day boomers and how the silent gen was

Overall, in terms of social attitudes, we’ve almost slipped back to like 2004 generally, while large portions of men and a minority of women are acting like it’s 1956

Idk I think maybe from the more feminine side of culture Roe v Wade a bigger factor but I don’t think the conservative thinking about sex is much of a factor of men which makes sense but I feel like the prominence of these values came around the similar time before so maybe idk

people were bored started monetizing their lives during the pandemic, reality or not. posting content, good or bad publicity it didn't matter as long as ppl were watching, the $$$ rolled in dont think its smart to make a connection like that before roe
