Nobody (ok maybe a few weirdos but basically nobody) is saying he deserved to be shot, we’re simply pointing out that he was shot to death in exactly the type of horrendous event that he himself would have mocked and downplayed. It makes some sense that he died that way but it was still wrong that it happened, just like it’s wrong to fire people for their speech.
