
imo this is like how the equal pay act (1963), obviously women and minorities still get paid less. companies dont have to pay everyone the same, they just can’t pay minorities less because they are minorities. the argument would morph into discussions of productivity and industry, just how the pay gap is reasoned through things like the motherhood tax or male-dominated fields being naturally higher paying. they can’t “replace” you with ai, but they can fire you for “low productivity”
