we are more socialist today than we were 10 years ago, progress is not linear.

but total socialism is inevitable as long as we have any form of government welfare?

you’re saying a single social program held steady would lead to a perpetually increasing level of socialism?

Because my understanding of the statement “free *always* leads to socialism” in the context of a single policy is that any single welfare policy would cause some sort of runaway socialism effect. there are only two ways that could be true:

1. any social policy has a miasma that magically turns the government socialist. seems unlikely 2. when we have social programs, people like them because they work. And so we are more likely to institute more. seems like not a bad thing?

you cared enough to respond multiple times. It seems to me like you just can’t back up what you’re saying. Which is fine, I didn’t expect you to be able to.

you immediately started arguing from a disingenuous stance. i’m not gonna trudge through your slop when you don’t care about reality and just want to feel smug. it’s why communities like these are so useless. no genuine discourse, just “explain to me the wheel before we do anything else” no. you’re just being flippant and trying to pass it off as a legit stance. do better.

it’s not a disingenuous stance - the original claimed a huge outsized effect to a limited policy, and I called that out. I legitimately would like an explanation of how OOP’s claim isn’t how I’m characterizing it.

Lmfao OP is being disingenuous, except you were the only one to get off topic. My friend, it seems you just don’t have a good argument to respond with…
