Did your parents just have amazing lives? My parents both had some financial struggles growing up. Not saying it’s bad that you want to save money to give children a good life, just that it’s not necessary to be super rich to have kids.

It seems like we’re likely at least as well off. We earn more and have a similar amount of wealth.

We are not. Boomers could work 1 factory job and buy a house to support the whole family. The idea of owning a house today for us is a fantasy

The first graph is from an economist at the university of central Arkansas. The 2nd is from the financial times using data from the federal reserve. None of it is from Reddit.
