don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to live under authoritarianism any more than the next person (aka not at all), but we kinda already live under the same kind of militarized mass surveillance, and have for the last like 26 years if not longer, and we’re actively losing the protections of the first amendment😭

Yeah China surveillance is another level from American ones We surveil like a lot too but the USG doesn’t do that much with that data to take action. For example I know there’s no one “social credit score” but it’s significantly more like that then in the states
