waymos, robotaxis, etc. are just flock cameras on wheels and that is why i have and will never ride in or book one. u could hate technology, buy a 2000s car w cassette only, no phone or internet devices. and then a waymo drives past you. say cheese🫠

If I had money and engineering skills I don’t think it’d be difficult to make a system that uses AI to detect and target ALPR sensors and blast them with an IR laser to temporarily blind them. For now, I’m just gonna have to stick to retroreflective IR license plate coatings and tape around the edges.

as if it wasnt bad enough, theyre faulty af and fucking up traffic nationwide, or taking jobs from real people drivers who are safer. they’re literally just surveillance devices on wheels. owned by a private company. recording everything and everyone in all directions at all times. i fucking hate them.

smart. what pisses me off is that you dont even have to be on the road for them to get u. the other night i had gone over to check my mail. and one of my lame ass neighbors ordered one to the building and not the office. so this car, which already probably has plenty of footage of me simply from going on runs around town, now has footage somewhere of me entering my apartment. they now know exactly where i live.

and sure with facial recognition, they probably already did, i renewed my voter registration recently but hey maybe they didn’t need VIDEO CONFIRMATION of me entering that address without my consent on private property? i fucking HATE them

im glad. i live in austin. so u can imagine how the huge techie community is hailing it as a revolution of modern technology, like no u idiots u just put the panopticon on wheels and are making money not just off the consumer but off selling that data and footage and learning algorithm to the highest bidder. are u fucking dumb? its infuriating
