“Selfish gain” is crazy, especially considering that even in cases of rape or incest this abortion debate comes up. Until sexual harassment / assault is prosecuted and preventable in a meaningful and consistent manner, women being stripped of their bodily autonomy even further than it already had been at that point because of “selfishness” is downright ridiculous and gross

literally and undoubtedly a developing human child and you’re comparing it to germs, that’s what i mean by dehumanising. the child has their own dna and right to life. you’re made up of living cells, and you’re a human, therefore you’re a living human made up of cells. As are developing babies

This is in addition to that ideology being beset by a GOP admin that cares very little for the child should the mother be forced to carry that child to term. No maternal leave, no tax subsidies for childcare, no free school lunches, no proper education from well-funded school, no assistance with hospital fees for the act of even having the procedure, vaccines being pulled from care procedure because the admin doesn’t believe in them anymore, etc

I don’t buy it that being holier than thou on a question of morality and metaphysics and ethics here is at all viable when half the country, who’s population is already struggling to put food on the table, has to also be at the mercy of any creepy man who never learned to control himself and a government demanding that child is to be born despite the obvious increased risk factors of crime, drug abuse, physical/emotional abuse, domestic violence, poverty, etc.

Like personally, I find it equally as unfair to that unborn child that they should be forced into a life not ready for them and have to deal with decades of suffering because some people in a rich but not so helpful country of elites decided it’s not a human being’s place to decide whether or not they get to get desperately wanted medical care for any particular reason

I didn’t say they would be, I said the risk factors were increased and obvious, that’s some crazy reading comprehension ngl. And yea you’re right adoption is an option but knowing full well how shitty of an institution it is in America right now and how little those organizations are funded or subsidized by the state, don’t you think it’s understating the case here?
