Also do you not remember in the early 20th century couples had to fight for interracial marriage?? Or all over the globe all over history interfaith marriages have been looked down upon in a lot of places?? Did those people not have to fight OP?

That would be almost a valid point if we were talking about marriage within Christianity specifically, which we’re not

Again, you’re not talking about hetero marriage, just examples of other specific marriage rights struggles that weren’t about being straight

So interracial marriage isn’t heterosexual? And it has nothing to do with specifically Christian, but there were laws in the middle east that prohibits people outside of islamic faith to marry, pretty sure the same is true with Jewish faith or at least its a custom, and if you mean struggles about being specifically heterosexual again, St. Valentine became recognized for marrying straight couples in a time where young men getting married was prohibited

You’re completely missing the point. The post is about the fact that straight marriage has never been prohibited on the basis BEING STRAIGHT, which is why straight pride is stupid and incomparable to gay pride. It’s really not hard to grasp.

Also your St. Valentine point is just moot because it doesn’t compare to gay pride in the modern day United States, where gay marriage was only federally legalized ten years ago.

“And if you men struggles about being specifically heterosexual” is me not missing the point, and if you’re sidelining religious questions on the basis political discrepancies then I could say the same that “homosexual couples weren’t banned from getting married because they were gay.. its because they didn’t fit the Christian definition” (which they didn’t) which is preposterous to say, you can’t ignore something just because it has a qualifier of something else added to it.

The statement was about straight people fighting for the right to get married, I listed examples.

And now you’re adding timelines as a banner for when things count?

I just think you’re making a ridiculous comparison and I don’t see any purpose to it other than downplaying the struggle for gay rights
