Skeletons need to be in pretty damn good shape to determine someone’s sex with confidence, and it doesn’t help that everything is on a spectrum. Also, people can have both male-typical and female-typical traits in their pelvis, and especially so with other parts of the skeleton. Sure, you can find someone’s chromosomes based on their DNA, but DNA only lasts 1-2 million years in rare, IDEAL conditions. Plus, if you’re having to analyze someone’s chromosomes to make a determination, it’s safe…..

Idk why when I hear this talking point I always interpreted it as being WAY WAY WAY in the future. So sure, DNA evidence can exist in archaeological findings. However, in most STANDARD conditions, it only lasts decades to centuries.
