Unironically there is only one authoritarian position I believe in and that’s mandatory vaccinations for minors. Idc at this point. If you don’t want to be an adult and do what’s objectively best for your child’s health, then you won’t be treated like one
The American Academy of Pediatrics strayed from federal guidelines. They recommend the covid vaccine to everybody 6 months and older.

What would you think about some kind of legislation regarding child obesity? Being that that also has a drastic effect on children’s health.

We have legislation on child obesity, tbh a lot of parents should be in jail for child neglect.

But it objectively is very harmful for children’s health

Yes and that’s why we have laws and awareness regarding obesity

Yeah like 2 said, we already have legislation on this. Mandatory vaccines should be in the same category as other forms of child neglect

I wasn’t aware we had laws against childhood obesity, what are they?

Educate yourself, don’t let the news be your only source of information, it has become extremist propaganda, atp let AI do the thinking for you

That’s funny because I just looked online and asked AI and they both came up empty. Looks like the only legislation that exists are ones that restrict junk food in schools and promote exercise

You are cherry picking. “What steps do the US government take against high children obesity rates?” It told me Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act, which increased fruits, vegetables, whole grains, set limits on calories, required all milk to be low-fat/fat-free, and created restrictions on vending machines. Also the Farm Bill which funds SNAP-Ed a program that teaches low-income families how to make healthy meals on a budget. Also the “Let’s Move! Initiative” which brought significant awareness to-

healthy eating and increased physical activity. Also the CDC Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity, which funds and supports states to implement increased access to healthy foods and drinks and creating safe routes to school for walking and biking. And there is so much I am leaving out.

If you truly believe the government isn’t doing enough, you should be outraged with the cutbacks to the CDC and public health sectors of the government.

I agree that those are programs that restrict unhealthy foods,or promote exercise. But none of those are laws against childhood obesity, there currently are no laws or regulations against a child being obese, or holding parents accountable for letting their children live that way

If you don’t provide your child with necessary care, you can go to jail for child neglect.

Yes, you CAN go to jail if you neglect your child (thank god) and in SOME cases of extreme morbid obesity that can be the case. But that doesn’t come into effect until it gets into the upper echelon of obesity. It is not something that happens for cases that aren’t as severe
