I think this is as simple as we’re imposing human emotions onto machines It learns from humans, humans have a natural self preservation drive, AI replicates self preservation. It doesn’t actually have one, we just taught it to

The ai doesn’t gain anything from deleting this database though, it doesn’t keep it alive/online

We often do things to try to save ourselves that don’t actually help in the end. I think it’s a very interesting behavior indicative of its training dataset
