It’s actually crazy how many people align themselves with the right or with Trump in general because of how he pissed people off. Like I’m sorry bro that is not a political position and you’re just a shitty person for that 🤷‍♂️

At that point it basically is just admitting that you have no principles other than being an asshole. That says enough about what kind of person they are that I literally don’t even know how to criticize it further

Literally true, load up any Kamala speech during her campaign and 90% of the time she’s talking about women’s rights or something that is mostly for women like student loan forgiveness

While women hold a larger percentage of the national student loan debt than men, that doesn’t make it a women’s rights issue…men still hold almost 40% of that debt

Guy to guy, the right and it’s rhetoric is exactly the opposite help you need. Why would they solve a problem they’re getting your vote for when they can just perpetuate it and run away with the election? If they solve your problem they’re claim to care about, they have nothing to win you over with. The rhetoric that gets peddled to you is entirely purposed to continue grifting you because they profit from your engagement being the kind of man you are

Idk if you wanna die on that hill that the economy is going great under republican leadership as of late lmao. This current administration is actively lying to you day in and day out and about shit that would force previous members of the same party to resign immediately, but you’re here like “yea but they say they care about the economy” while dumpstering it in very incompetent ways, almost like they’re unqualified to run the country who knew?

lmao the republican party has destroyed the economy every time they’ve been in power going back decades. the fact that they’re considered “good on the economy” is a mix of vibes and the fact that their economic policies make the owners of the media rich, despite being harmful to the economy in general and bad for regular americans. our economy is literally at covid level statistics right now due to tariffs. the only reason the GDP isn’t going negative is because of insane inflated growth from

AI, mostly Nvidia. These companies aren’t actually gaining value, just hype. So when the bubble bursts in the relatively near future our economy is going to contract by several percent, causing a massive recession, if we don’t already enter into one due to Trump’s stroked out self playing with the levers

dude what the fuck is this projection. you’re the one trying to blame democrats for a disaster that was allowed to happen under a republican. and yeah; they’re buying them because AI hype is literally the only thing keeping the economy afloat right now. never mind that it makes essentially everything worse and is basically impossible to make profitable.

cutting edge LLMs that literally do addition wrong lmao. the same ones that have made search engines work worse than ever. the same ones that literally off themselves when they run into issues coding (yes gemini can literally freak out and uninstall itself, deleting all its work lmao). these tools are not profitable and never will be. they use insane amounts of resources while doing little other than making employees and students alike lazier and less capable. we already have compelling evidence

Cherry picking much? How are the far more widely used models doing? It’s a bit disingenuous to pretend that the main source of AI use right now is phone banks.

If you ask any software engineer right now whether they use an LLM or not for code generation, I guarantee they will say yes. You have world models, and digital twins attempting to make humanoid robots too it’s not just LLMs that are driving AI. Cherry picking much, LMAO. Backtracking much. Anthropic reported 5 billion in revenue from tokens alone, so yes that automated phone calling stuff actually does make up a large portion of their business model. Use a little imagination

Again you’re deliberately focusing on Anthropic instead of the much more popular and important OpenAI. Also… revenue is not profit. Neither company makes a profit.

Yeah cause they’re in the stages of buying shitloads of gpus and infrastructure to make the damn models you half wit. Maybe we should’ve never made the roads, they initial cost was to expensive. Maybe we shouldn’t build airplanes, they’re also way too costly. I don’t understand how you get by with such little critical thinking

Anonymous replying to -> #2 1w

electricity isn’t getting any cheaper… in reality AI datacenter garbage is basically destroying our grid, there is simply not enough power. they literally lose money in terms of electricity costs alone. AI produces essentially nothing of value. they’ve spent tens of billions of dollars to accomplish tasks we already could, but worse.

If it wasn’t valuable, China and the U.S. wouldn’t be locked into a trillion dollar gpu spending war. There wouldn’t be export controls on the top of the line GPUs, etc. I could go on, but it seems to me you’ve never used an LLM from the point of view you’re taking

it isn’t valuable in a material sense. it is fake, hype derived value. it’s like tesla stock, utterly disconnected from anything in real life. LLMs make humans lazy and incompetent, and they can’t do basic tasks like algebra

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #7 1w

LLMs are actually highly proficient in math, so no. Something doesn’t need to have material value, software isn’t material in nature. Do you want everything to be a gold brick. I mean wtf are u even saying

upvote 0 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #2 1w

No they aren’t… they literally fuck up algebra and arithmetic. Material value as in real value… as in the companies valuation is actually based on something they do. AI companies just… aren’t. they make no profit and never will, but they get valued more and more because of hype. of course this is a bubble, and when it bursts it will be great depression levels of bad because we’re already deep in a recession if it wasn’t for the overvaluation of NVIDIA
