I think they’re feeding into the mentality to bait but yeah there are people who genuinely feel that way. IMO this issue is tertiary to many other legislative/executive issues minority groups face, but, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t discuss this as a growing cultural issue

Well then, my friend, how should I react to this? Should I say “you know what, you’re right. I DO suck. I’m what’s wrong with this world”? That’d be lying. Everyone I’ve met knows how kindhearted, open minded, and supportive I am for issues that don’t affect me. That doesn’t mean I won’t defend myself when someone tries to belittle me.

If you want to talk about the fact that *a majority* of white men voted Trump, that’s a whole other issue that I’d probably agree with you on most points with. But, again, we need to be able to distinguish which groups we’re talking about. Even if you’re not intending it, making blanket statements for an entire group is just adding to the divide.

“You people” - my brother in Christ I’ve ended friendships bc they use the hard r in a “joking” manner. I’ve actively worked on programs to increase DEI incentives in my department (prior to that being nixed). I’m not perfect, of course I’m not. But I’m better than you give me credit for. Please don’t just take a stereotypical white racist and assume I’m them. I’m far from that.
