More so means that in todays world white males are being attacked. Don’t get me wrong, we have done some fucked up things in the past, but we can’t move on an equal basis when this stuff is happening. For example, the previous comments above just randomly assumes white males are rapists and racists
No, white men who are unlike me. I’m my own person with my own views, who actively advocated for Harris in a Republican voting county. You know.. I’d wager I’ve done more against this current admin than you have. Does that mean I’m still a problem? Should I stop supporting the left?
Well then, my friend, how should I react to this? Should I say “you know what, you’re right. I DO suck. I’m what’s wrong with this world”? That’d be lying. Everyone I’ve met knows how kindhearted, open minded, and supportive I am for issues that don’t affect me. That doesn’t mean I won’t defend myself when someone tries to belittle me.
If you want to talk about the fact that *a majority* of white men voted Trump, that’s a whole other issue that I’d probably agree with you on most points with. But, again, we need to be able to distinguish which groups we’re talking about. Even if you’re not intending it, making blanket statements for an entire group is just adding to the divide.
“You people” - my brother in Christ I’ve ended friendships bc they use the hard r in a “joking” manner. I’ve actively worked on programs to increase DEI incentives in my department (prior to that being nixed). I’m not perfect, of course I’m not. But I’m better than you give me credit for. Please don’t just take a stereotypical white racist and assume I’m them. I’m far from that.
