“there’s a cap to that” alright? i wasn’t gonna work a 90 hour week either way but an extra untaxed $250-500 is not something i’ll complain about

an extra $250-500/week is literally life changing wdym. idk what tax bracket you sit in but most of us would shit bricks for what’s an extra 20%+ on the check. most of america is paycheck to paycheck. an extra $500 is more than a large chunk of most of people’s rent if not the whole thing if you’re in a poorer area

never qualified for it anyways. i’m smart enough my money i’m not paycheck to paycheck but i pay for health insurance and don’t qualify for assistance. many people are in this boat. that extra change will allow people to avoid bad loans and hopefully save if they have a third brain cell

bro a 10-12 hour day is actually elite as shit. kinda depends what you’re doing but when i was working construction i was out of town M-F. 6-6 is a mint shift if your only option is to go back to the hotel and do nothing anyways. you’re hitting 40 by Thursday and and get a short Friday so you’re home by 4-5 and have the weekend to unwind

yeah i’ll just likely never be able to achieve that level of wealth so it’s really irrelevant to me. maybe my kids can get there but i just gotta stack and try to provide for my next generation

i don’t qualify for either and will hopefully never be in a position where i would need to either. it’s a fickle thing but i know hella people who exploit it just bc its easier to collect an SSI check than work an extra shift. can’t even blame them but it is rather disheartening to see

you must’ve never needed that extra $300 then and that’s a helluva luxury. some people will. government cannot operate perfectly for every citizen or we wouldn’t have laws. we just have to do the best we can for everyone and hope it works out mostly good. and that includes weeding out people exploiting the good natured intentions of governmental aid, which in turn will naturally impact those who aren’t exploiting it. it is the bad natured people exploiting loopholes that make it harder for

i just don’t know that we’d ever perceive it the same way if you’ve never had to work in that nature or that long due to need. i hope my children can have a life like that, but i was not so fortunate. i’m way more fortunate than my parents who grew up in abject poverty. it’s all stepping stones and hoping you make enough correct decisions and work hard enough to let those after you have it easier than you did. maybe my kids will never need a job where they have to work overtime or pay health

insurance or worry about whether people are living comfortably. but i don’t believe that our generation is close enough to making that happen
