I want to live in a world where years of supporting genocide and denying millions of people healthcare are considered far more unforgivable and immoral than Graham Platner’s personal sins

I watched him talk about it and since he’s had it for so many years and has had to pass screening tests to have the government jobs he’s had and it never came up, plus he’s never hid the tattoo and nobody said anything till now. Most people had no idea it had nazi affiliations so it’s not that surprising that he didn’t either

“Why do you even care if he’s a Nazi?”

Just so we’re clear, who is the former?

A drunk marine getting the scariest looking skull tattoo in a Croatian shop without realizing what it means is one of the most believable and underrated stories I have ever heard. If he was a nazi, don’t you think there would be more evidence from his life? They scrapped his social media and all they found were comments that made him seem too far left.

He just “accidentally” got a literal Nazi tattoo. 🙄

I believe that most non history nerds wouldn’t recognize that skull

Literally one of the most recognizable Nazi symbols.

So, gonna say right now that he was a history buff, said some racist things in the past, so theres a good chance he *did* know: It’s a skull and crossbones. It’s really not that recognizable. You can only tell it’s the symbol if you take the time to count the teeth.

He knew. His campaign director resigned.

It looks like he resigned because he thinks the controversy surrounding it is enough to sink his chances not necessarily because of the tattoo itself. Not that it really matters either way

She thinks he knows what it means. It would be pretty difficult for someone to not know. Even if, by sheer stupidity, he didn’t know, this is a disaster. There are zero extraordinary things about this guy, only scandals. And it would legitimize Nazis or people who may be hiding as Nazis in Congress for decades to come

If we want to go full conspiracy mode it could be a plot by the establishment to blow this out of the water because they don’t want him to get in

I said there’s a good chance he did know in my comment yes

He literally went on Pod Save America and talked about it because he knew opposition research had found out. He got ahead of it

The fact that no one has answered this most likely means this dilemma does not exist. This is a primary with 8 other candidates, and even if he wins, he’s not going to be the tie breaking vote
