I don’t think small scale theft that has negligible impact on a companies profits makes someone inherently bad. That said the scale of the value, the perceived impact, and the actual impact need to be considered.

Really depends on the situation for me, if you’re not doing it out of survival but you’re doing it for a reason like you’re trying to get a family member something nice to eat for their birthday despite being on an extremely tight budget I don’t see as much of a problem with it compared to college kids stealing bags of cookies because they simply just don’t want to pay for it despite having the means to

i dont think you even have to be struggling. i think stealing necessities every once in a while is fine only when its from a company that wont even feel the loss
