The modern libertarian party is a disgrace. Started as the first major political party to call for equal marriage… now serves to sovereign citizens and creepy grandpas.

Are you sure? Like if we look at who libertarians tend to politically support and align themselves with, it’s overwhelmingly republicans.

I never said that. I went through a libertarian phase and the way the party operates is what made me stop. I agree they aren’t closer to republicans than democrats they are just very stupid, inept, and out of touch. Which tracks as a political party in the US.

Ok like maybe you actually adhere to your ideals but I think it’s fair to say most self-identified libertarians don’t. Republicans very much play into libertarian rhetoric if it’s about guns or social programs meant to help poor people, but are decidedly anti-libertarian when it comes to foreign wars, mass surveillance, borders, law enforcement, etc. And many libertarians go along with it.

I pick and choose. im against foreign wars, mass surveillance. im for border security and law enforcement when its like, yknow, common sense stuff like responding to emergencies and shit. Every republican president and democrat president has things they did and did not do that I disagree and agree with. Nothing is black and white.
