Some regulations are good, but many just make things worse for everyone. Spain has nearly as many elevators (1.1 million) as the US (1.2 million) with a much smaller population largely because of unnecessary red tape here.

Funny how the talking point about libertarianism being bad is always just "what would you do without this aspect of the government that you never mention defunding, scaling down, or eliminating?". I think everyone can agree that requiring elevator safety maintenance is a good thing regardless of political standing

I'd say a good bit of idiots in the libertarian party actually do argue for stupid shit like that, but at the same time it's used a lot to ignore legitimate criticism of authoritarianism.
