There are many alternatives to getting rid of pests that are much better. Like traps crops, simply handpicking them off, using biocontrol, crop rotation, and more. Chemicals leech into the soil, run into the water, can affect beneficial or non-harmful insects, can make their way up the food chain. And not to mention the fact that pests can quickly become resistant to chemicals.
