the united states bombed civilian instillations in iraq, like power plants, water purification systems, oil refineries, hospitals etc. alongside the thousands of deaths of innocent children due to the crushing economic embargo on Iraq

Either compare 9/11 to October 7 or the bottom to us in Iraq. One’s terrorism, one’s reciprocation for terrorism

Some terrorism starts the war and some terrorism happens during the war, and occasionally it ends the war but that is war and one with the goal of occupation.

Why even compare. God forbid people mourn during 9/11 and be sick of people minimizing their losses. People can comment on the posts minimizing genocide all they want. Why bring 9/11 into it? People can say it was a distraction to bigger issues as much as they want, too, but that doesn’t take away from the fact real people died

Do you actually believe you’re helping the Palestinians when you bring up Palestine under every single post that has nothing to do with it? I promise you’re not, you’re actually turning people that would support your cause against it bc you’re so fucking annoying.

I don’t think this is minimizing, if you believe so you too it personally in a way that doesn’t make sense. I think you can compare the way people react to these different situations. It’s valid and understandable, it should make you more aware of 9/11, and how that tragedy was apart of millions tragedies. Be say never forget, so to never repeat, the only way we do that and understand all tragedies.

9/11 was reciprocation (retaliation) for american terrorism in their region. you just drew the historical line there so you can excuse/ignore the decades of terrorism inflicted by the US before 9/11 same thing with 10/7. *generations* of murder, brutality, occupation, rape, torture, kidnapping, human rights violations, war crimes, etc. and you want us to fixate on a single retaliatory attack on a vacuum? disgusting apologia

Ok so the US invasion of Iraq was to defend the sovereignty of another nation. I don’t know why that would be considered bad. US funding of mujahedin I will admit was bad but more so the fact we let the Pakistan government pick who to fund rather than direct support of what would be the Northern alliance. What else?

Anonymous replying to -> evil_sheep 21h

did you just dismiss decades of american terrorism and call it good? just because a nation's sovereignty is threatened doesn't justify any and all actions against the assailants the claim i made is that 9/11 was retaliation. whether or not you think the US was justified in its war crimes and crimes against humanity prior to 9/11 doesn't change the fact that 9/11 was a retaliation for those actions. are you arguing against that?

is your argument really just "we invaded them and it was good so clearly 9/11 wasn't retaliation"?

The US is funding the Israel Palestine war but we are not using the war terror to justify that we are using the fact that we are allies to the Israelis. And I think the genocide is disgusting but bringing up Palestine under every fucking post is not helping them. It is contributing to the apathy problem developing in in the world about this human rights crisis

you're saying 9/11 wasn't a retaliation? so it just happened in a vacuum? totally unprovoked and with no prior catalyzing circumstances? nothing led to 9/11? it just happened because some bad guys funded a hijacking to be bad guys?

I think it was a mental ill man and his cult of followers believed that the US was to involved in the Middle East and his little sect was pushed to the way side and attacked the US as a result. What do you think caused it

simply mental illness, right? so it had nothing to do with US involvement in the middle east; including but not limited to occupations, invasions and troop deployments across the middle east and muslim nations? it had nothing to do with war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by US soldiers and US allies? you don't think the US bombing over 400 iraqi civilians sheltering in place had anything to do with it? nothing at all?

yeah it must not have anything to do with the US' bombing of the region for decades. no no it has nothing to do with using white phosphorus and cluster bombs in civilian populations. nah

But we didn’t invade Iraq unless you believe Saddam that Kuwait is part of Iraq. Who you know attacked Saudi Arabia you know the home of Osama Bin Ladin. Why did they stand by and let Saddam brutalized the Kuwaiti people. Killing civilians and stealing from them. Of course the US stationed troops in a area that was attacked by another country and the person who did was still in power

Yeah it’s getting a bit confusing with everyone arguing. Osama Bin Ladins home country Suadi Arabia was attacked by Iraq not the US and his kinda adoptive home was invaded by the Soviet Union. I don’t really see how he can blame those deaths on the US with in any reasons. I say mentally ill because he was psychologically analyzed to be a narcissist which fits with hated of the Us due to his little military cult being sidelined by the Suadi government in favor of the US military you know a army
