My stance on abortion: yes a fetus is life. but how do we tend to judge the wrongness of ending various kinds of life on earth? we judge it by two things, complexity and cuteness.

ie you wouldnt kill an elephant or a puppy. because one’s complex and one is cute you’re okay with chickens dying but not chicks, and sheep but not lambs. if the life is complex or if the life physically appeals to a soft spot in our eyes, its deemed immoral to kill even if “necessary”. a fetus meets neither of those requiremenrs

Morbid alert but have you ever raised one and looked it in the eye while you kill it to eat? It is a wild and transformative experience about the nature of helplessness and empathy. Or it was for me. Like, going through the whole process of killing, de-ornamenting, butchering, cooking, and eating an animal that was in every capacity helpless is kind of a mind fuck.
