Peaceful protesters are protesting with signs and chants etc. certain other people take advantage of this protest and use it as an excuse to loot and raid and be terrible humans. However, that is 1. Sure they were throwing bottles of water and the occasional actual brick or homemade flash bomb, but the rioting didn’t start until the national guard let the crowd get WAY too big, and then started to push those crowds back with clubs and pushing. That ALWAYS leads to riots and they know this
