also yeah I have no motivation to fork over and sacrifice all my time to work for companies that treat me like shit. I want freedom and time to actually enjoy my life. Getting 4ish hours of free time a night 5 days a week is enough to drive me to suicide

Literally. When I’m not gonna make a liveable wage or I’m going to be fucked over by my employers all the time and when I don’t get paid any more for working harder or get any raises, why on earth would I have a good work ethic?

Nowadays if you want a promotion you have to ask for them repeatedly and not do work for free outside of your job lane, otherwise they won’t give you a raise or promotion for something they are getting you to do for free anyway.
