It actually depends, a lot of jurisdictions actually have trustees from the holding center/jail do all the cleaning like that of squad cars when arrestees piss, shit, or vomit in it

I thought about mentioning that but it’s usually only in the bigger more metropolitan PDs that you see that. I would imagine most police departments in the US make their officers responsible for cleaning the cars before their shift.
