Ok, so what is the “anti-immigration” argument then? What is their reasoning for that belief, in your thoughts? Do you believe that people that believe in anti-immigration are just racist and they just don’t like any immigration?

I believe a whole lot of the people who are anti-immigration are just racist. Y’all seemingly have a hard time articulating why without it devolving into racist rhetoric. Not all, there’s arguments regarding labor forces and social services. But the anti-immigrant movement as a whole seemingly never escapes run of the mill racist xenophobia as the main driver.

Well in America we have the made up lies about Haitians, calling Somalis “incompatible with the west,” calling for “remigration” on an ethnic basis, Native American politicians being told to “go back where they came from” because they’re brown, current immigration policy treating Afrikaners as refugees but not actual refugees who aren’t white, “heritage Americans,” racial slurs being used against immigrants, claims that some immigrant ethnicities are “genetically inferior” (mostly abt Somalis)

The anti-immigrant parties in the UK (mostly reform) have a lot of members who use racial slurs, praise Nazis, and are Holocaust deniers.

In America there’s also this bizarre attempt to otherwise Latinos as being “non-western” or foreign to American values when they’re Spanish-speaking Christians also from frontier colonial nations with histories of liberal revolution. They’re extremely similar to Americans. But they’re grown.

So why would they say Somalis are incompatible with the west, to your knowledge? Who’s calling for emigration on an ethnic basis? How are they being treated differently from “actual refugees?” Racial slurs like what? I don’t think anyone is actually arguing genetic inferiority. I don’t know much about the uk political landscape, but obviously those people need to be shamed. No one is arguing against that. I’m not sure what you’re referring to about that, is there anything you can point me to?

The Somali thing is mostly about Islamophobia and a propagandization of Minneapolis. I lived in southern Maine. The Somali community there is great. Far right white nationalists call for emigration on an ethnic basis. The origins are in Europe and it’s about all people who aren’t ethnically European. That’s where the term “remigration” comes from. Our government has posted about emigration.

White South Africans are not actual refugees. They are not in imminent danger. I have been to South Africa. They are the most economically privileged ethnicity in the country. They are treated differently from other refugees because our government is refusing real refugees. They are denying entry to afghans who assisted U.S. forces. Essentially the only “refugees” being processed are white South Africans, not people in actual mortal danger.

Racial slurs that I’m not going to name because it’s yikyak. But you can look it up. Against Chinese and Indians mostly. Nigel Farage praised Hitler in high school.

In October 2024, Donald Trump said immigrants were bringing “bad genes” into the country. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-suggests-immigrants-bad-genes-latest-disparagement-migrants-rcna174271 I have seen eugenicist arguments from anti-immigrant people on this yikyak, mostly against Somalis. Claiming they have genetically lower IQ, which is practically out of a Nazi pamphlet.
