David Hogg wanted to support primary challenges to democratic incumbents. I’m all for invigorating the movement and supporting younger candidates, but the vice chair should be impartial in the primaries to show solidarity with the whole party

You can think that, but it’s not pragmatic. We exist in a 2 party system, and you have to work within that. The democrats have in the past, and their goal now is to make people’s lives better. If you want to actually make people’s lives better, you should support the democrats.
