How do you know that the number of people getting sick has increased? We had one very well-publicized Cyclospora outbreak that caused 11,458 confirmed infections. That’s a drop in the bucket compared with the millions of foodborne illnesses that occur every year in the U.S. You can’t just say that less regulation is causing more people to get sick. You first have to establish that more people are actually getting sick, then show that deregulation is the reason why.
It’s literally just a fact fam. Deregulation is literally resulting in cases such as this. The last major outbreak was within the 80s and 90s of salmonella. Literally the third largest outbreak in U.S. History fam. Like having a house and taking out all the smoke detectors and wondering why you didn’t know there was a fire.
