Idrc the last time I used a coin in a transaction was probably when I was 12 at a gumball machine.

And on both sides too. Lincoln is technically the only president to appear on both sides of a coin to date, but then again him sitting in the Lincoln Memorial is a statue.

No living president has ever been on our coinage (like they completely skipped Jimmy Carter on the dollar’s presidential series) and no sitting president has ever been on a coin either. Kennedy was put on coins in 1964 after his assassination in 1963. Eisenhower was put on coins in 1971 after his death in 1970.

For reference on the presidential dollar claim: Note there’s no Carter, Clinton, W Bush, etc. for more modern presidents but there is Reagan
