Black people were brought along as slaves. Giving a black guy a gun went against everything the CSA stood for. The “great truth” of white supremacy and all? Kinda goes away with black people in uniform winning medals. Which is why Trump imposed the transgender military ban, because black soldiers coming home from WW1 with medals and uniforms demanded their rights and were seen more as equals. So why would trump want trans soldiers or the CSA black soldiers?
