No healthcare system is perfect or without issues, but I would rather have long wait times and slower innovation than have thousands of people dying from preventable diseases, and the lucky survivors plunged into lifelong debt and ruin.
ironically, the US isn’t even *that* special on wait times
people see Canada’s underfunded system, and don’t think to look at other universal healthcare systems

Literally like other countries in Europe with universal healthcare don’t have the wait times issues. It’s just mostly a Canadian problem.

Hell I heard a story about someone visiting Iceland who went to the doctor about a lump and found out it was benign within a day.
