This and the thought of the poles of the Earth’s magnetic field flipping and wiping all our electronics are two of the things that really keep me up at night. I think I’d almost rather have the nuclear bomb in my sleep option than living through whatever comes after humanity plunges into a post-electricity world, which I have to imagine would actually be way worse than pre-electricity

We do have solar weather monitoring satellites that would give us a decent amount of warning time before a Carrington-level event reaches Earth. There would totally still be a lot of damage, but we’d probably have enough time to protect critical systems

Sounds like an excuse to try to delete evidence of crimes that will be in vein cuz there are several back ups in EMF hardened facilities.
