If you add up all the wealth of billionaires in the US you get approximately 5.5 trillion. If you spread that out equally to every American, everyone would get about $16,000. That’s something, but not enough to fundamentally change lives. Also, that wealth is mostly in assets that would crash in value if sold quickly.

I’m all for a more aggressive progressive tax system, but billionaire wealth isn’t the only thing wrong with America.
