As a leftist I agree to an extent. Leftists need to stop with the purity politics but also liberals need to stop enabling the GOP. The DNC needs to stop colluding against true progressive candidates and stop playing nice. In that sense I am proud that Democrats did not shill out Americans to keep the government open

ehhhhhh there was a lot of cope but actual polling and scholarship showed they were neck and neck. the real outcome was within the margin of error for the polling, besides that one selzer outlier

Don’t even really need any polls to show it, it’s just basic fundamentals, the last time a midterm wasn’t bad for the party in charge was 2002, it took 9/11 for the party in charge (republicans) to not lose control of either chamber of Congress.
