The thing is, highschool was the test. Higher education should be accessible, but only if you truly want it. I meet too many young people who don’t know how anything really works. They can pass a class, but they’re lacking. Not even just conservatives

If you come to college bc your parents made you, you felt like you “had” too, or anything other than the true endeavor to learn then you probably need to reevaluate yourself. Y’all complain about taking classes “not necessary” for your major, forgetting that it’s not about YOU or what YOU like to do. It’s to be educated. Which means if you’re an art student you should understand algebra. If you’re a business major you should understand history. If you’re a math major you should understand art

Conservatives are some of the worst tho. But I’ve meet “liberals/leftist” who are just people who vote blue and care about their gay friends, but who’ve never cared to really deconstruct the status quo. They want to be “good” kinds of Christians and conservatives, not truly be left leaning people. And it’s because we’ve devalued education. Conservative students are just people who want to argue their way to being right, not dissect why they’re wrong.

We cannot be a functioning society that is well prepared and flexible and capable without everyone able to be those things also. Now, in a capitalist world, I understand that those truths have been lost on us. We go to college to not be “poor”(even tho there are millions of people with degrees who work at Taco Bell) but you should be aware, be grateful, and be ready to learn anything and everything.
