I don’t think George bush lied about saddam hussein having nuclear weapons… I think he was just misinformed and angry about 9/11…

The intel community assessed there were no WMDs in Iraq well before 9/11 and affirmed it after. Bush ignored those reports to give a reason to invade

I visited the George Bush Presidential Library in November. They did a good job explaining the insane pressure he was under from the intelligence community. They were saying act now, or a dirty bomb will go off in NYC

The idea at the time was a second attack was imminent unless we hit Saddam. In hindsight yes it was one of the most terrible mistakes of the 21st century, but at the time he had no choice
