ICE isn’t a “private militia,” it’s a federal law-enforcement agency and the man wasn’t killed, he was wounded. Calling the government “fascist” or saying he was shot for an authoritarian regime is a political interpretation, not an established fact about why the shooting happened. And he wasn’t simply “hidden from his lawyers.” His family apparently didn’t know his location for several hours, but his attorney spoke with him and he called into her press conference the very next day.

My original point wasn’t that this shooting doesn’t matter or that the circumstances are identical. It was that dozens of other Americans were also shot that day and most received little national attention.

Calling me a fascist sympathizer isn’t an argument, and I can’t find this “wave of ICE agent suicides” you’re talking about. The recent ICE officer suicide was reported after he learned he was being fired, not as some admission of guilt over “atrocities.” Predicting more suicides because you think they secretly agree with you is just speculation

when I said wave of suicides, it was a reference to two things: 1. The ice agent who recently killed himself in front of his office; and 2. The prevalence of suicide amongst nazis after the holocaust, as a means of avoiding prosecution and avoiding reflection. I did not mean to imply that many agents have already killed themselves, just that the inevitable wave of suicides amongst them have already begun via the first suicide.

(And yeah, thinking they fundamentally know they’re wrong is speculation in and of itself; but the connection between suicide and fascism is not. perpetrators of the regime, historically, go to any lengths to avoid accountability; which commonly includes suicide.
