Yeah, I think they can be exempt because let’s be honest, they’re probably gonna run out of that money pretty soon.

There shouldn’t be tax on gambling winning for ANYONE plain and simple. If I lose $1,000,000 gambling the government isn’t gonna come to my door with a $900,000 reimbursement but you can be damn sure if I win $1,000,000 they’ll STEAL as much if it as they can.

I’m pretty sure a few states exclude lottery winnings from taxation

No we should abolish lotteries in the first place. Gambling ruins lives. And before you say it funds education or whatever, the reality is that states create lotteries and then cut funding for education, using the lottery to make up the difference.

It’s the top bracket, so they only take 90% of income over about $2,400,000 in a single year. Anything under gets taxed less

The bottom line is the same. If the government isn’t helping cover gambling losses they shouldn’t have any piece of gambling winnings
