The only one wasting your time is you ngl unless you're psychic, you can't tell if someone actually means what they're saying. This has been a problem long before AI, and it's why good faith is so important.

Oh nah I just had the experience of being told by an ai that I can no longer speak to my landlord directly, I have to deal with the fucking ai and ask it to ask my landlord to call me at some point in the future. Dystopian bullshit man
